This book influenced me by teaching me how to treat others and the difference between good and bad. It taught me how to be a good person and what I shouldn't do to others.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=the+bible&x=0&y=0

The Diary of Anne Frank -

I read The Diary of Anne Frank in High School and it was one of the books that showed me I was lucky to be fortunate in this world. This book makes me think of how much more worse things could be than how I'm living now and I should be thankful for everything I have right now.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_0_19?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=diary+of+anne+frank&x=0&y=0&sprefix=diary+of+anne+frank

Rich Dad, Poor Dad -

Rich Dad, Poor Dad was recommended by my uncle who is currently in Real Estate. This book influenced me by teaching me things I usually don't learn at school such as the importance of financial literacy. One of the biggest things I take into concideration is my need to work. I need to work because I need to learn, not because I need the money. No matter what, the money will come when you work... it's what I learn from work that keeps me going.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_0_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=rich+dad+poor+dad&x=0&y=0&sprefix=rich+dad+po

Media Impact

My proposal of a media research project would be on how facebook/myspace affects student's grades. The way I would research this project would be using the random sampling method and choose a certain amount of students from each school in the bay area. I would test my hypothesis by asking each person how many hours they spend on facebook/myspace each day and then find out what their grades are for each quarter/semester. I would do the same for people who aren't on facebook/myspace and find out their grades as well. The results I predict are that facebook/myspace would interfere with people's grades and the people that aren't on facebook/myspace have higher grades than people who are always on these social networking sites.

Media Autobiography

There are eight different types of mass media that we face in everyday life. These types of mass media are books, recordings, the radio, newspapers, magazines, television, the movies and the internet. Through out my life I have used many of these which have molded me to who I am now.

Books were very important in school so I was always learning from them everyday. Even though I was learning from books everyday, I passionately hated reading and sometimes I wondered how I got through school because I hated reading so much.

I listen to music all the time in the car which are recordings of mass media. Music impacted me by leaving messages and expressing emotions that changed how I thought about my every day life. I would listen to music on the radio a lot. You would also hear news on the radio and different special speakers at certain times of the day which many people would hear all at once; which I believe is one point to multi-points of communication. The only thing I questioned about the radio was if I had to really listen to these people talk because I didn't know if it was right or wrong information that I was taking in.

The newspapers and magazines are another source of mass media that give false information sometimes. Most of the time I would never read them because I hated to read. I would also only read the newspaper if something interested me on the front page, such as the "911" incident.

I believe television, the movies and the internet are what impacted me the most when growing up. I always watched television when I was little, grew up watching movies when I was a teen and was always on the internet because it was a necessity for everything we did at school and even during everything I did in life . I would research, pay bills, check schedules, buy necessities and even buy food. It saved a lot of my time and pulled a lot of stress off my shoulders. I use the internet everyday as a tool but at the same time I can use it as a distraction such as be on facebook all the time, looking at car parts I don't need and watching shows/movies online. All that can keep me back from studying and can even make me late for work.

I have two jobs right now, one as a bartender at a local restaurant and the other is a wedding photographer which I am pursuing as my career. Some of the best wedding photographers out there are great photojournalist such as Greg Gibson who worked for bush at the white house. He was part of many major newspapers and magazine companies. Through these jobs he has gained so much experience and skill and has applied them to wedding photography now. I wouldn't mind joining the New York Times or Times magazine just to gain the talent he was able to gain through these jobs and be able to apply it to my major/career in the future. After going to Las Vegas for his professional wedding photographer seminar, he was the one who inspired me and with the passion I have for photography, I believe that one day I will achieve a status like his.
